Ausblick in die Zukunft der Live-Produktion: Sky Deutschland und LiveU demonstrieren einmal mehr die Effizienz und einfache Realisierbarkeit von 5G-\u00dcbertragungen per IP-Bonding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

LiveU und Sky Deutschland haben ihre Zusammenarbeit ausgebaut und die Grenzen der Live-Berichterstattung ein weiteres Mal neu ausgelotet: Bei den j\u00fcngsten Special Olympics lieferten sie einen Proof-of-Concept (POC) f\u00fcr eine Multi-Kamera-Videoproduktion, die mobile 5G-Netze als \u00dcbertragungsweg und die Cloud als Produktionsinstanz nutzt. Die Special Olympics, die vom 17. bis 25. Juni in Berlin stattfanden, sind laut Veranstalter \u201edas gr\u00f6\u00dfte inklusive Sportereignis der Welt“, bei dem \u201eTausende von Athleten mit geistiger Behinderung gemeinsam antreten“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sowohl Sky Deutschland als auch NEP produzierten Live-Feeds der Spiele. Sie nutzten das LiveU EcoSystem, einschlie\u00dflich der IP-Video-Sendeeinheiten von LiveU, um mitrei\u00dfendes und dynamisches Videomaterial von den Wettk\u00e4mpfen zu liefern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sky Deutschland und LiveU pflegen eine langj\u00e4hrige Partnerschaft, die weit \u00fcber die regul\u00e4re Beziehung zwischen Kunde und Anbieter hinausgeht. Gemeinsam haben sie bereits mehrere 5G-Feldversuche durchgef\u00fchrt, unter anderen bei Fu\u00dfball- und Handballspielen. Ziel dieser Probel\u00e4ufe war es, die einfache Handhabung, Flexibilit\u00e4t und Kosteneffizienz von 5G-basierten Kontributionsprozessen zu verdeutlichen. F\u00fcr den aktuellen Proof-of-Concept w\u00e4hlte Sky Deutschland ein Tischtennisturnier bei den Special Olympics als Rahmen-Event. Der Sportsender arbeitete mit dem lokalen Organisationskomitee (LOC) sowie einem Mobilfunkanbieter zusammen, um ein privates 5G Netzwerk aufzubauen. Dabei hatte Sky mehr als nur eine Beratungsfunktion inne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alessandro Reitano, SVP Sports Production bei Sky Deutschland, erkl\u00e4rt: \u201eDie Special Olympics sind eine wichtige mehrt\u00e4gige globale Veranstaltung mit einem hohen Inklusionsanspruch. Mit der Unterst\u00fctzung des LOC und von LiveU sahen wir die Spiele als ideale Gelegenheit, die zukunftsweisende Produktion und \u00dcbertragung mittels 5G schon heute erlebbar zu machen. Das Besondere an diesem Projekt war, dass Rundfunksender, \u00dc-Wagen-Firmen sowie andere Techniklieferanten die 5G-\u00dcbertragungen in Aktion sehen konnten. Das veranschaulichte die Effizienz und Flexibilit\u00e4t des IP-Bondings sowie die sehr einfache und schnelle Einrichtungszeit im Vergleich zu konventionellen Workflows.“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Tischtennisturnier dauerte vom 19. Juni bis zum letzten Tag der Special Olympics. Sky Deutschland nutzte das LiveU EcoSystem in Gestalt einer Multi-Cam LU800 Sendeeinheit im Vier-Kamera-Modus sowie dreier mit LU-Smart ausgestatteten Smartphones, um die Aufnahmen zu \u00fcbertragen. Die Feeds der LU800 wurden ebenso wie die der Smartphones enkodiert und unmittelbar nach M\u00fcnchen gesendet, wo sie von zwei LiveU Servern empfangen und dekodiert wurden. Die Bildmischung erfolgte in der Cloud, wobei der Programmfeed sowohl dem Director of the World Feed als auch dem unilateralen Feed von Sky Deutschland zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reitano fasst zusammen: \u201eDie Special Olympics waren ein wahrhaft inklusives Ereignis. Das trifft nicht nur in Bezug auf den Wettbewerb als solchen zu, sondern auch auf die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Sendeanstalten und Dienstleistern, die neben technischem Know-how auch die Feeds der Wettbewerbe untereinander austauschten. Die Nutzung von 5G als Transportweg bringt technische und finanzielle Vorteile mit sich, die es den Medienanstalten und insbesondere der Telekommunikationsbranche klar zu vermitteln gilt. Unserer Ansicht nach besteht noch immer eine zu gro\u00dfe Abh\u00e4ngigkeit von den traditionellen Transportmechanismen. Das muss sich \u00e4ndern, um verk\u00fcrzte und weitaus flexiblere Workflows zu erm\u00f6glichen. Wir sehen eine wachsende Nachfrage von Sendeanstalten, die 5G und IP-Bonding bei Gro\u00dfveranstaltungen nutzen wollen, um eine umfangreichere und vielf\u00e4ltigere Berichterstattung voranzutreiben. Der Einsatz von 5G und LiveU er\u00f6ffnet eine ganz neue Welt der M\u00f6glichkeiten. Der Bedarf ist da.“<\/p>\n\n\n\n
