French Firefighters Rely on LU-REQON1 to Ensure Safety at the #ChambordLive 2025 Concert
The firefighters used LiveU's field unit to guarantee the safety of the 30,000 spectators who came to see the Black Eyed Peas' performance, a concert enhanced by pyrotechnic effects and fireworks.
On Sunday June 22, 2025, the Chambord National Estate welcomed thousands of spectators for Chambord Live#ChambordLive, headlined by international group Black Eyed Peas. The major musical event mobilized the SDIS 41 fire department, including drone operators, to ensure everyone’s safety. Their mission was to monitor the castle, the forest and the concert area with a thermal camera, due to the presence of pyrotechnic effects and fireworks.
The Challenge
The team of three drone-operating firefighters wanted total coverage of the site and surrounding area, and to relay a reliable video and/or thermal feed to the command center. The conditions were complex: the Château de Chambord site is isolated, with poor network coverage, while the expected crowds were large. There were also no plans to use private 5G.
The Solution
The fire department chose the LU-REQON1™, equipped with four LiveU multi-operator SIM cards, for enhanced mobility and transmission reliability. The LiveU unit was embedded with the drone’s remote control, giving operators total mobility in the field, and enabling the drone’s range to be extended to cover the entire site.
The organizational command post, located in a nearby parking lot, received images in real time. A liaison officer (OLAT) was in charge of coordinating the authorities and the firefighters on the ground. The drone enabled incident detection and guidance of the first response team in the field.
"This mission of retransmitting our drone images (visual and thermal) to the organization, gendarmes and firefighters would not have been possible in such a comfortable way without LiveU's LU-REQON1. It ended up being the only tool capable of retransmitting our images in broadcast quality to the command center, with a latency of less than two seconds. A wonderful complementary tool (and truly indispensable!) to enable us to be mobile on this immense site of the Domaine national de Chambord, keep the drone in sight, with the best video signal on our remote control and be as close as possible to the areas to be monitored."

The Results
Mission accomplished! No incidents were reported during the event. LU-REQON1’s performance exceeded all expectations: perfect transmission at 6 Mbit/second, with a delay of less than two seconds. The multi-operator 5G coverage enabled the firefighters to free themselves from transmission constraints and concentrate on piloting the drone, the video of which is impressive. The solution has indeed enabled total coverage of the site for the fire department, and beyond, since it was also able to take over from a previous third-party solution used by the gendarmerie, whose performance was affected by the particularly saturated 4G/5G environment. The images will subsequently be used for experience feedback and communication operations.
