With integration into the LiveU EcoSystem, the cloud production solution, combined with the LiveU LU800 field unit, provided the foundation to produce a well-rounded, high-quality live production featuring roving reporter from several brands’ booths at InfoComm, the largest professional audiovisual trade show in North America, with thousands of products for audio, conferencing and collaboration, and display.

The Challenge

Creating compelling and engaging live content at scale can be overwhelming. With a lean onsite crew, tight budget, and bandwidth challenges in the convention center (lots of concrete, tens of thousands of people, etc.) the roadblocks continued to grow.

The Solution: LiveU’s lightweight production solution

Using LiveU Studio to fully mix and produce the show in the cloud, Audio Connect for real-time team communication also cloud based, and the LU800 Field Unit with LRT and 5G bonded cellular, the team had a seamless, reliable setup. This allowed them to manage the process more effectively from the field units remotely and allowed the virtual show crew to stay focused on delivering a great live experience—without being weighed down by traditional broadcast infrastructure.

If viewers couldn’t make it to InfoComm, LiveU and Social180Group brought the show to them – featuring a mix of curated content, interviews, and product demos live from each brand’s booth or special event.

The Results

With more than 20 live spots during InfoComm to several different destinations, the team proved that they can produce the show with fewer people, less cash, and in less time – while still delivering the viewer experience that Social180 Group is known for.
