Introduction

Real Life Network (RLN) is a free, faith-based digital streaming platform featuring over 60 programming partners. Supported by over 3.3M engaged followers, RLN’s reach delivers high-quality Christian TV, live events, and biblical teachings across major streaming devices including AppleTV, Roku, Amazon FireTV, iOS, and Android.

For a modern house of worship network, spreading a message of faith requires both widespread accessibility and uncompromising visual quality. The network transitioned from web-based transmission tools to a robust, broadcast-grade ecosystem powered by LiveU. By leveraging cellular bonding, the network successfully fuels a 24/7 linear channel, an expansive on-demand ecosystem, and high-power television syndication, ensuring their message is delivered reliably without looking like a typical “non-broadcast” stream.

The Challenge

Before LiveU, the network relied on web-based transmission services. However, for a network aiming to maintain a true broadcast look, these solutions fell short, often yielding a compromised, amateur aesthetic.

The network also required a reliable way to ingest live, uncensored news and event coverage from remote locations to correspondents in critical hotspots like Israel, Washington D.C., and Atlanta. Because houses of worship and independent faith networks often operate outside traditional heavily wired broadcast environments, relying on a single, local internet provider presented an operational risk. A single drop in connectivity could completely interrupt a live sermon or breaking news broadcast, disrupting the connection with millions of viewers who depend on the stream for their spiritual community.

The Solution

RLN deployed a comprehensive, end-to-end LiveU EcoSystem to anchor its remote acquisition and studio production workflows.
The hardware and cloud architecture deployed across their operations includes:
An LU800 Pro unit based in California manages high-end multi-camera field productions, while an additional unit is deployed directly in Israel with an on-the-ground correspondent for real-time international reporting. These multi-camera, heavy-duty field units are especially valuable for high-profile content capture, including live production sets at major industry events like the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention.
To cover high-profile domestic news and live events, RLN is introducing two new AI-driven LU900Q field units assigned to strategic hubs in Atlanta and Washington, DC

The Stream Workflow

Daily programming includes broadcasting live services from Calvary Chapel 2 to 3 times a day, alongside specialized social media studio content.

To maintain an uninterrupted broadcast, streams sent out of the LU810 ingest into cloud channels using LiveU’s native LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) protocol. For primary and redundant cloud routing, these streams are seamlessly converted from LRT to SRT (Secure Reliable Transport). This workflow also replaces legacy “Kulabyte to Resi” setups for regular social media pipelines, providing a tighter, more cohesive infrastructure.

The Return on Investment

Spreading the Message Widely

For this network, monetization is fundamentally defined as maximizing reach – getting the spiritual message out to as many eyes as possible while keeping the network self-sustaining and functional.

High-Power TV Syndication & Affiliate Markets

The reliability of the LiveU ecosystem allows the network to act as a true affiliate in the broadcast market. A prime example of this capability is their ability to reliably drive a high-quality signal across the Pacific to a high-power television station in Hawaii, expanding their traditional broadcast footprint.

Dedicated On-Demand Ecosystem

To capture audiences who prefer asynchronous viewing, all live feeds ultimately populate a dedicated custom video-on-demand (VOD) platform. Viewers can download the network’s proprietary app to engage with the full catalog of services, sermon series, and media within a self-contained, branded ecosystem.

“In a time when sharing biblical truth faces unprecedented hurdles, having a broadcast infrastructure that is both bulletproof and free from external constraints isn’t just a technical goal, it's central to our mission. LiveU’s bonding technology guarantees that our live events and programming reach our millions of followers with the absolute highest reliability. This technology ensures our community stays connected no matter where they are in the world.”

Charles White, Director of Broadcast/Studio Operations Real Life Network

Setting the Gold Standard for Modern Ministry Broadcasting

By blending Hollywood-level production standards with LiveU’s resilient cellular bonding and cloud routing, the network has built a masterclass in modern ministry broadcasting. They have successfully bridged the gap between traditional high-power television and global OTT streaming – all while maintaining the pristine visual quality required to properly deliver their message.
