Vista Studios Announces Collaboration with LiveU to Bring Wireless At-Home Production Model to Service Offerings

LiveU-equipped Facility Enables Clients to Produce High-Quality Live Content From Anywhere

Vista Studios recently partnered with LiveU to bring the company’s cutting-edge technology to Vista’s live production client base. The collaboration enables Vista Studios clients to produce high-quality multi-camera remote productions using LiveU’s Wireless At-Home Production model to affordably and effectively produce content from anywhere – without a huge crew or investment. Vista Studios can also provide clients with LiveU portable transmission units for single-camera live productions outside the studio.

“Producers at Vista Studios have been very pleased with the lightweight and versatile LiveU system. It allows the field-based signal contribution to be included in studio productions without relying on labor-intensive and often cost-prohibitive legacy transmission solutions,” said Mark Depping, VP Operations at Vista Studios.

Wireless At-Home Production, or REMI, is a growing production solution as it allows producers to drastically reduce costs. In the At-Home Production scenario, the cameras and LiveU portable units would be onsite where the live event was taking place and the LiveU server, video return, and entire production team would be back at the production facility “home” producing the event. Production studios also embrace the technique because the demand for more live content is growing, but not always the budget. For a client, jobs that would require production or satellite uplink would likely never happen due to the operational costs.

“Vista’s facility offers unparalleled capabilities to its clients. The partnership with LiveU gives the studio added value as a live video provider, giving clients a cost-effective, turnkey solution for producing high-quality live content,” said Dave Belding, LiveU’s Sports Sales Director.

Vista Studios has deployed LiveU’s quad server/receiver and the LiveU video return feature which enables clients to see a program return or teleprompter out in the field.  By having this base system “racked-up” and ready to go, Vista clients can easily and quickly deploy several LiveU field encoders as required for their particular production needs.
