THE CHALLENGE

For ten years, Paris Saint-Germain has been meeting their Qatari and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) supporters in the PSG Qatar tour, participating in different fan activities and playing against the Riyadh XI team.

The PSG-Riyadh XI match presented a major hurdle for PSG to broadcast the event and pre-match content effectively to their worldwide fan base – in three languages and across multiple platforms. The main challenge was to ensure the highest possible video quality and best viewing experience without a single point of failure.

THE SOLUTION

PSG chose the LiveU EcoSystem for the live production. Multiple LiveU portable field units (LU600) were deployed to transmit live feeds into various LiveU Studio control rooms. Each language (French/English/Chinese) had two feeds, one main and one backup. This enabled them to create a workflow that could automatically switch between the main and backup in each language in case of failure – with each feed fully backed up by LiveU Studio’s fallback feature.

Furthermore, they took advantage of Studio’s multi-destination feature to stream the match with the formats and qualities adapted to the platform’s requirements.
