From Trackside to Cloud: Bringing Spedeworth TV’s Races to More Fans than Ever

Spedeworth TV is a leading motorsport VOD platform, offering exciting live and on-demand coverage of Hot Rod, Stock Car, and Banger Racing events every weekend of the racing season. Summer Isle Films, its production company, produces the on-demand racing content for the online subscription platform. As demand for high-quality, reliable live streaming continues to rise, Spedeworth TV began looking for a more flexible and scalable remote production solution to meet its growing requirements.
The Challenge – Meeting Fans’ Expectations for Multi-Angle Streams
While the platform boasts a passionate and expanding fanbase, Spedeworth TV was encountering increasing challenges in scaling its live streaming capabilities. Its setup needed upgrading to deliver the fast-paced content that motorsport viewers expect – dynamic multi-angle coverage, instant replays, curated highlights, and behind-the-scenes action.
Spedeworth TV required a broadcast‑grade, cost-effective contribution solution that could deliver faster, high-quality coverage, while scaling easily across a busy racing calendar.
The Solution – A Cloud-Driven Remote Production Workflow
In early 2025, Spedeworth TV selected LiveU’s lightweight production solution with a cloud-driven approach, enabling the channel to significantly expand its live coverage capabilities. Following a successful test run, Spedeworth TV deployed several LU300S units alongside the LiveU Studio cloud production service to deliver live and on-demand, multi-camera coverage across its digital platforms, as well as Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Firestick, and other services.
Fixed trackside cameras, roaming operators, drone aerials, and immersive live onboard views are synchronized and mixed using LiveU Studio at Summer Isle Films’ facility in Suffolk, UK, for a seamless broadcast.
LiveU Studio operates as a cloud production control room, pulling instant replays and highlights packages directly from the ISO system. Seamless LRT integration, accessible from a browser, increases efficiency for remote workflows.
LiveU Studio’s Audio Connect keeps crews in sync in real-time across sprawling race venues ensuring smooth communication in one shared audio space (including Control+ users). LiveU’s cloud solution enables ad insertion, increasing opportunities for new revenue streams. Spedeworth TV has also trialed mobile phones as onboard cameras cable-tied to roll cages.

Moving production to the cloud has cut costs, expanded event coverage, and enabled immersive multi-angle storytelling.
The streamlined workflow scales easily to new venues while seamlessly combining trackside and roaming cameras, drones, and onboard views. By enhancing its live streaming with cloud production technology, Spedeworth TV has reshaped its motorsport coverage – scaling from a handful of live events into a flexible broadcast engine that captures the full intensity of racing for fans everywhere.
