Background

For Artear/TN, covering Argentina at the 2026 World Football Championship went beyond following the matches. They connected teams working from the US with the newsroom in Buenos Aires, allowing them to follow the national team while capturing the stories developing from stadium surroundings, fan zones, news events and live reactions.

The goal: keep a constant connection between field journalists and editorial teams, letting the newsroom decide in real time which stories were most relevant for its audiences.

The Challenge

World Football Championship coverage requires more than a predefined production plan.
Artear/TN needed crews to move continuously between stadiums, streets, fan gatherings and other locations while staying ready to go live whenever the editorial agenda changed.

The challenge was technical and editorial: provide reliable live contribution while preserving the mobility required by journalists and camera crews and ensure that the Buenos Aires newsroom could receive and manage incoming content quickly enough to react to breaking news.

Crews had to go live with minimal setup time, send broadcast-quality video back to Buenos Aires and coordinate with newsroom editorial decisions in real time, even when stories developed outside the original coverage plan.

The LiveU Solution

Artear deployed LiveU LU800 units as a key part of its field contribution workflow. The LU800 gave crews the mobility to transmit live video from different locations while maintaining a reliable connection with the broadcast operation in Argentina.

Instead of being tied to fixed transmission infrastructure, crews could move with the story – following the Argentine team, reporting from fan zones and responding to breaking-news as it developed.

LiveU technology also supported the field-to-newsroom workflow, enabling content to reach Buenos Aires in real time and giving editors greater flexibility to select and integrate incoming feeds into the coverage.

With local support from Livemedia, the operation combined LiveU field contribution with the infrastructure required to maintain a responsive production workflow throughout the tournament.

The Results

The LiveU workflow gave Artear/TN greater flexibility across one of the most demanding sports-news operations of the year. Crews were able to remain close to the action while the newsroom in Buenos Aires maintained direct access to incoming content and live signals.

This allowed Artear/TN to extend coverage beyond the stadiums and scheduled matches, react quickly to breaking stories and unexpected events, and bring audiences closer to the atmosphere surrounding Argentina’s participation. The result was a more agile production model in which field mobility and newsroom control worked together, allowing Artear/TN to focus on storytelling rather than transmission logistics.

“During the FIFA World Cup, having the kind of support LiveU provides is an extremely valuable asset.”

Exequiel Sanitz, Editor General, TN

“We used two units throughout the entire journey, including in highly congested environments, and they always performed flawlessly.”

Federico Gandolfi, Cameraman

Conclusion

For Artear/TN, LiveU provided more than a transmission path during the 2026 World Football Championship. The LU800 became part of an agile field-to-newsroom workflow that allowed crews to move with the story while giving editors in Buenos Aires the real-time visibility and flexibility needed to shape the coverage.

In an event where the most important story can emerge far beyond the stadium, that mobility became a key part of the production strategy.
