The Challenge

Held at the Heritage Yards softball complex in Plano, Texas, USA Softball’s Girls 18 and under (18u) and 16 and under (16u) Gold National Championships featured more than 70 softball teams from around the country, playing over 245 softball games during the six-day tournament.

It started as a proof of concept. Brett Casadonte and the team at GlobeStream Media wanted to show their client, USA Softball, the level of production they could achieve with a wireless REMI (remote production) model – at an affordable price point and within the budget constraints they faced.

The Solution

Global Stream Media was able to achieve more than 500 hours of live coverage of the Girls 18 and under (18u), and 16 and under (16u), Gold National Championships. LiveU REMI solution allowed more simultaneous streams with less on-site crew saving time and money while producing more revenue-generating content. The LiveU technology provided a higher-quality, reliable solution – bringing viewers closer to the live stream action. All games throughout the tournament were streamed directly to the Team USA Softball’s website for fan engagement and monetization.

“I was completely blown away by GlobeStream’s ability to stream an event of this magnitude. It’s not easy to stream 10+ hours a day on nine fields – especially in extremely hot conditions. The LiveU technology provided a higher-quality, reliable solution, which gave our online viewers an amazing opportunity to be part of the games.”
